I was moderator on VoidRP for a couple months which has since shut down. I probably was Moderator for 250 of my total hours so I have a lot of prior knowledge and experience.
Please answer these questions with your honest opinion.
b1) Why do you want to volunteer for XenoRP?
I really enjoy helping other players and being a positive person in the community. I love the server and want to help make it a great experience for any other players to play on. I really enjoyed staffing on other servers and have had a lot of fun doing it.
b2) If you were to get accepted, what do you think would make you a good moderator?
I think I would be a good moderator as I know all the rules (I cant tell you how many times I have checked the motd), I know how to moderate and I feel I am ready to do so. Out of my 700ish hours on gmod about 600 of them have been in DarkRP so I know just about everything there is to know. I follow the rules super strictly (Across all my darkrp servers I have gotten 1 warning). I find myself on when no moderators are on and the trolls join (Due to pacific being towards the end of the people online) and am willing and able to moderate during those times. I only have good intentions and genuinely want to help people in this community.
Please provide descriptive answers for the following questions:
c1) Define RDM/RDA and describe how players who perform those actions should be punished.
RDM (Random Death Match) - Killing another player without reason.
example (1)- A person walks up to you and kills you without warning.
RDA (Random Arrest) - When a police officer randomly arrests another player when they were not breaking any current laws.
example (1)- Police officer walks up to you and proceeds to handcuff and arrest you.
So I used to usually let the player who reported the offender decide if they should get a verbal warning or a written warning. I actually saw a lot of positives to using this method and a lot of cool bro moments of guys saying thank you. Although if I don't use this method I would just outright give them a written warning.
c2) Explain "NLR" and provide examples of instances in which it is violated.
NLR (No Life Rule) - Walking back to the scene of some event after dying before 120 seconds has passed.
example (1)- During a raid a defender you kill comes back and kills you.
example (2)- Player returns to location of death before 120 seconds have passed.
c3) Define "metagame" and provide examples of its occurrence.
Metagame - When a player uses external forces to help him gain knowledge of loot inside bases, where players are etc.
example (1) - Person uses car to glitch his third person camera view to look into the base.
example (2)- Someone uses ooc to let other players know information they weren't otherwise able to know to their advantage.
Please explain how you would handle each of these situations:
d1) You see a higher up is abusing their powers to the highest severity, how do you react?
I would save a recording of them abusing their powers and then proceed to post on the forum that this type of behavior is occurring with evidence and an explanation of the situation.
d2) During a sit, you see someone outside of the sit Mass RDMing. How do you handle the situation?
I would jail the RDMer, finish the sit and then move on to the RDMer.
d3) Only two other players are online, and they're building in the streets.
I would let them know it isn't allowed and tell them to either save their building (ADV dupe) or remove it in a timely manner. I wouldn't give a written warning unless they specifically continued building or left it up after I had told them to stop and remove it.
