+1 great idea

DarkRP is already extremely unrealistic so I don't think the "taking away from realism" matters much. Also having to buy a $50,000 gun license every single time you respawn just so that the game is playable isn't a very good solution. The issue here is that people are becoming police because the only thing they want to do is spam weapon check and arrest people. It's not how RP is meant to work and its just straight up unbalanced.

By the time you can realize that you've been weapon checked, pull a gun out, and the animation for pulling it out is completed, you're already tazed. Plus, half the time you shoot them and there's 10 other cops around that will arrest you instead.

Lately on the server, I have found it to be practically unplayable whenever a mayor makes random weapon checks allowed. All people do is be SWAT and spam weapon check on every single person walking around in the street and its extremely unbalanced and makes playing as a criminal zero fun. You are forced choosing to either have no weapon on you (which is half the fun of DarkRP), or spend 3 minutes AFK when you inevitably get arrested for having a weapon on you because there are 10 police officers running around doing nothing but looking for people with weapons to arrest, which is not how police act in RP scenarios. There are also currently no rules concerning police's use of the weapon check SWEP. A change needs to be made to one of two things: 1. The weapon checking SWEP needs to have a cooldown of at least a minute, perhaps longer, so police cant just spam left-click on every single player walking around in public. 2. Random weapon checks being allowed by law needs to be unallowed I feel this is a very big problem and ruins the fabric of RP for anyone who likes to play as a criminal, and I would love to see some change made in regards to the issue.
