SpicyLaowai
a1) What is your in-game (RP) name? Not a Real Cop / Weirdo a2) Provide a link to your Steam profile. https://steamcommunity.com/id/Cruel_Angels_Thesis/ a3) What is your Discord Tag? (ie: SomeUser#1234) TitanSix#0206 a4) What timezone are you located in? CST / GMT +8 a5) How many in-game warns do you have? Zero (as far as I know, I haven't been warned. I've spoken to staff about reports that I've made. I was asked once not to propblock, but explained that it was part of an RP scenario as we couldn't close a cell door as someone else propblocked it.) a6) Have you ever been banned? If so, explain why? Nope, never been banned. a7) Do you have any prior staffing experience? If so, where? Yes, I do. I have over 2000 hours of serious roleplay in FiveM (GTA 5 RP), and began roleplaying in TSRP (RP mod for Half Life 1) around 15 years ago. In TSRP, I was a moderator in Nukesilo, Sean's Server, and have been a moderator in a FiveM server called LARP. Currently, I'm an active staff member for a game called SCP: Secret Laboratory on steam, and have been a global moderator for that game in the past as well. Please answer these questions with your honest opinion. b1) Why do you want to volunteer for XenoRP? I would like to volunteer for XenoRP, for a few reasons. For one, sometimes when I play, because of my timezone, there are of course other users online, but not any staff. Which does present an issue with people being mingey and having no intent to roleplay. Secondly, I do enjoy playing in the server, and I like the positive helpful attitude that many of the staff have towards players, and think this is a great community for me to lend my help to. I enjoy the RP that happens on here, and wish to do my part in ensuring the good RP continues. Since Xeno provides good roleplay to myself and others, I believe it is a good thing for me to apply to give my good intentions back to the server. Simply put, it's a good place to be and I'd love to do my part to help! b2) If you were to get accepted, what do you think would make you a good moderator? I believe I'd be a good moderator as I am quite mature due to being 29 years old. I also have a lot of roleplay experience throughout many different games, and have functionally lead departments within those games. In FiveM, roleplay is taken as quite serious where there is a department of justice, court, etc, and I effectively handled an entire department with other users in a mature manner. Additionally, from being a staff member for a popular game on steam, I've learned how to properly handle reports, hackers, and to be unbiased when dealing with emotional and dramatic behavior. I can fluently speak Mandarin & Cantonese Chinese, as well as English, and am able to support users of varying levels of English. Please provide descriptive answers for the following questions: c1) Define RDM/RDA and describe how players who perform those actions should be punished. RDM refers to "Random Death Match", and it occurs when one player randomly attacks another player without any roleplay reason for doing so. RDA refers to "Random Arrest", and occurs when a user playing the role of an officer or other LEO, arrests another without any realistic or purposeful roleplay reason to do so. Users who do this, should be punished with a warn first to notify them of their issue, and then escalate that punishment dependent on the actual situation, attitude of the user, and explanation. Mass RDA and RDM would result in a ban, depending on severity as it serves no purpose other than to minge in the server. c2) Explain "NLR" and provide examples of instances in which it is violated. NLR refers to "New Life Rule", and is the way of ensuring that users don't Revenge Kill or interrupt after being killed on a previous RP scene. It ensures that people treat each life as a new life, and serves to prevent individuals from returning to a scene for 2 minutes. NLR is violated when a user, regardless of occupation ingame, returns to the scene and attempts to join it again with the same purpose as before. Such as a cop returning to a raid after being killed, just to prevent the raid from ending. Thats poor roleplay and serves no purpose. c3) Define "metagame" and provide examples of its occurrence. Metagaming is when someone uses OOC information to benefit themselves in IC. One example of this is someone using /OOC chat information to find out some information regarding another users IC character, such as location or situation. Another example, albeit extreme, is when someone uses tha TAB menu to look at another users Role/job, to easily find them within a crowd to kill/kidnap/mug them. Metagaming can also happen outside of the game, such as through discord where someone abuses third party communications and gives information to someone else that they shouldn't and wouldn't know. Please explain how you would handle each of these situations: d1) You see a higher up is abusing their powers to the highest severity, how do you react? I would document the situation through shadowplay and report it through the proper channels. Getting directly involved or attempting to punish the higher up could and probably would result in even more drama. Especially given the fact that it is difficult to know the full situation. Nothing is worse than seeing one side of the situation and attempting to act just on that side alone. Instead, observing and properly documenting and reporting the problem is the more effective way to handle the situation. d2) During a sit, you see someone outside of the sit Mass RDMing. How do you handle the situation? I would jail the mass RDMer, and then notify another moderator of the situation with the Mass RDMer and ask them if they could help handle the situation until my sit is finished. I would not delay or rush the current sit, especially if it was for a purposeful and practical reason. Its our job to ensure that each user gets treated fairly. If I was the only moderator online, given the circumstance, I would ask the current sit user to give me a brief moment, while I jail the offending mass RDMer, to handle both situations. All this is situational, but I believe that as long as the two users who have moderator related events are handled fairly and as per the rules, then all is well. d3) Only two other players are online, and they're building in the streets. First, I would approach the two users with a kind attitude and chat with them. I believe it is important to establish a rapport with the users in our community. I'd notify them of the rules regarding building in the streets and ask if they could move their props. I'd offer to help them as well to ensure that it doesn't interrupt their roleplay too much, and to ensure that they don't get in trouble for breaking the rules. Kindness and fairness can help us get a long way when dealing with other users. Edited February 1, 2021 by SpicyLaowai Link to comment
