a6) Have you ever been banned? If so, explain why?

Not on Xeno.

However years back I have likely been banned on other servers in my early DarkRP days. You live and you learn.

a7) Do you have any prior staffing experience? If so, where?

Yes.

Multiple DarkRP servers in recent years. I am not sure which servers still exist today, however a few names I can remember are:

Debonair Network, FrostRP, Garnet Gaming (not sure if this is the same Garnet that is popular today, this was years ago and I remember the server being much smaller.)

Aside from DarkRP, I have experience staffing in other games, Discord servers, Reddit pages.

I also have some real life managerial experience, which I actually drew a lot of my skill in that position from my days of staffing thing's like DarkRP.

Please answer these questions with your honest opinion.
b1) Why do you want to volunteer for XenoRP?

I have been really getting back into DarkRP in the recent months. XenoRP is one of the first servers I have found since my hiatus that has provided a stable environment thanks to the diligent staff, as well as a great group of regular RPers. Staffing is something I have always personally enjoyed doing, so anyway I can provide to the server from a staff point of view I would be happy and excited to do. I want to ensure new players and returning players alike have a positive and memorable experience here on Xeno.

b2) If you were to get accepted, what do you think would make you a good moderator?

Besides from prior experience with staffing, I enjoy interaction with other players quite a bit. I've always been pretty outgoing, so when faced with a social issue, I like to try and find solutions. Where I work and have worked, making sure not to escalate a scenario is vital. Listening to people, but making sure you stand firm on set rules is essential. The goal is to ensure people understand the rules and why they broke them, not to shout at them and/or belittle them and abuse your power. Taking action is something you do when you have to, not when you want to or don't like someone due to bias.

Please provide descriptive answers for the following questions:

c1) Define RDM/RDA and describe how players who perform those actions should be punished.

RDM is the act of "Random Deathmatch" or more simply put, killing a player with no real reason within the confines of RP.

Newer players are very likely to commit RDM if they have little to no DarkRP experience, but even seasoned players can RDM unintentionally. With any RDM, it always warrants a discussion with the player, finding their reason for killing, and then explaining to them why it's wrong, citing the rules. This would also be followed with a warn (RDM x the amount of times) regardless if it was intentional or not. An honest and fair player should not fear the warn system and receiving a few warns. If a player starts MassRDM, jail them, and then proceed with finding out why, followed by punishment if minge/NITRP (I have observed that usually a MassRDM case gets a player a 2 week ban on XenoRP).

RDA is the act of "Random Arrest", where a player in a Police/Law Enforcement job arrests a player with no real reason within the confines of RP.

Once again, this is something that newer players are likely to commit, but even veterans could get wrong. It's important to explain to the offending player why they cannot arrest people with no reason/the reason that they provided that was invalid, citing the rules. This would also warrant warning them (RDA x the amount of times) so if they continue to RDA, the warn system will automatically punish them if they persist. Mass RDA would call for jailing the player and finding their intent for arresting people, whether it be they are simply that confused, or they are a minge/NITRP

c2) Explain "NLR" and provide examples of instances in which it is violated.

NLR or 'New Life Rule" is the basic rule of DarkRP that when you die, you have to roleplay a "new life". This simply mean you cannot go and kill someone after they just killed you, or return to your base while its being raided if you were killed in the raid. A few specifics of NLR are that you need to stay a specific distance away from where you died for a specific amount of time (120 seconds on XenoRP). You as a player are not supposed to remember your previous life to fit with RP.

c3) Define "metagame" and provide examples of its occurrence.

Metagaming in DarkRP is basically using knowledge that your character in the confines of RP can't/shouldn't have. You should always RP with intent, attempting to keep the flow of the game. Things like using the physics gun to push a camera through a bases walls are not within metagame and shatter the illusion/challenges of RP.

Another example of breaking metagame is doing things like killing yourself with keybinds to avoid arrest. A simple, yet within RP alternative would be falling off a roof accidentally and dying to fall damage.

Or going up to a hitman and asking them "Who do you have a hit on" and expecting them to answer you. Part of the fun in RP is pretending some of the more videogame-like aspects of DarkRP aren't there.

Please explain how you would handle each of these situations:
d1) You see a higher up is abusing their powers to the highest severity, how do you react?

As a player, I create a forum post reporting the higher up. I use shadowplay on my PC, so I would have videos/screenshots ready for this. I would also attempt to contact other staff about this through the forums and/or discord group to notify them ASAP.

As a fellow staff member, I would call them out on their actions, as well as collect video evidence and notifying another higher up/other staff.

In either scenario, since the person in question is a higher up, there isn't much I can do on a technical level right that second except collect evidence and ensure they are reviewed for their actions.

d2) During a sit, you see someone outside of the sit Mass RDMing. How do you handle the situation?

Quickly yet clearly apologize to the player(s) in the sit and explain that I need to handle something quickly. Firstly jailing the player in question that is Mass RDMING, then questioning them. If another staff member is online and on duty, I may ask them to handle the RDMing player once jailed, so I can return to the sit. If not I will attempt to handle the RDMing player quickly and fairly, returning the sit when the issue is resolved. Lastly, I'd apologize to the player(s) in the sit for the inconvenience.

d3) Only two other players are online, and they're building in the streets.

Explain to them that what they are doing is not allowed, offer them a verbal warning, and if they persist I would give them a technical warn. If players want to build in the street, they are more than welcome to create a private sandbox server and then return to XenoRP when they intend to RP.

Thank you for reviewing my application! I hope to see you all in game! :)
