Not Dominik - removing hobo build for a bs reason

Your In-Game (RP) Name: Morgz Mum

Which staff member are you reporting: Not Dominik (STEAM_0:1:172608645)

Please describe the staff member's unjust behavior: Me and pretty much everyone in the server were having fun with a spinning carousel I made using prop "models/props_c17/playground_carousel01.mdl" and a hidden prop inside of it, with a combination of ball sockets and axis', to spin it. This was not mingey at all and was contained in a few walls to keep cars out from ramming it. It was spinning in an arithmetic circle and even had a warning that it's possible to die.

Then Dominik comes along and deletes it without warning me or anything. I randomly came back to notice that it was removed with no explanation. Upon asking who did it, Dominik answers, saying it was "impeding normal movement", a rule that is only for defending bases?:

"4. Props that inhibit normal movement are not allowed for defence (ie slippery props or incredibly tight spaces)"

Like, it even says "for defense" in the rule. Hobos have nothing to defend because they can't own entities. Even so this rule isn't for them to begin with.

I can see how this might constitute prop minge but he didn't consider it that and instead cited a rule for base building as a reason to delete this. For you to actually be injured or even moved by this you would need to walk directly into it intentionally. Even so 90% of the time it doesn't even damage you or fling you far enough to do any damage.

I brought up the rule with Dominik that it was only for base building, but he didn't say anything about that.

With his logic literally any creative hobo build can be deemed "inhibiting player movement". Hobo build rules do NOT go under the same restrictions as bases because they are not bases. I find this pathetic and am rather annoyed and pissed because I spent time perfecting this and wasn't given any heads-ups.

How do you walk straight into an object spinning quickly without knowing that you're gonna be pushed by it?

Please provide any available evidence to back your claims: Below

I am not part of this staff report but, the carousel that you made was going extremely fast and was dealing damage and sometimes killing people. What dominik did was completely just because it was considered a mingy prop.

I can completely understand that but that was not his reason for it. I will add though, it was not going anywhere and was bolted down to one area. For you to die you would need to intentionally walk into it again and again.

No matter the reason behind deleting these comments, including mine. I personally believe this sets a very bad precedent not letting others voice their opinions on subjects, especially when it's something negative against your staff team. You're practically censoring and silencing people and it's wrong and is incredibly unprofessional of your management, this is how you lose the respect and trust of your users.

Ok can someone please address the deleted comments? It happened again. I have an email to prove it.

The big government conspiracy to cover up and suppress the people. No.

Cleaning up people who are not involved yes. The one fella who posted wrote "+1 Demotion", another fella started his post out with "I am not involved... but", and you think you're involved because you were on a spinning carousel.

Of the three people that got their comments deleted, you didn't get warned. That's our bad, mistakes happen. The other two lads, did end up getting warned, you just slipped through the cracks, again our bad. As much as you think you're involved in this report, you're really not, all you added was a what was already clearly stated by Setro, and then your own personal opinion. What was your connection to the sit other than hopping on a carousel or walking by it a couple times. Were you in the sit? Where you a part of building it? No, no. You are not involved. If all it took to be involved in a situation was walking by or hopping in the thing, 80% of the people could say they're involved.

Why don't we want people's opinions who were not involved? We don't want a popularity contest. We don't want to clutter the thread and make more to read, or for it to go off on a tangent. (Hell! Look at it now) Ultimately we don't want any unnecessary opinions. Too many cooks spoil the broth/stew/soup. If we wanted a public opinion, it would likely be a discussion page, a poll, etc. This is a staff report.

Setro provided more than enough evidence on the situation for it to be handled properly. I'm sorry if you think I'm being rude, but all you did was restate what was already said, and then added your own opinion. Just because you played on the man's carousel.

Hopefully this makes the actions that took place a little more clear, if you have further questions feel free to message me here, or on discord(Blacksanta123#7091).

From my perspective the posts were disappearing suddenly and with mine getting removed as well without a reason sent back to me made it look like it was all silencing. I understand now why you disallow those who were not involved in the situation to post and It does make sense. If I'm able to make suggestions, can I recommend maybe having a banner alert of some sorts that’s shown on the top of threads posted in this category saying this? That way it doesn’t confuse others when they see posts getting removed along with it letting users be aware of it before they start posting? I apologize for the misunderstanding and if I shown any attitude while I was in the moment.

Though saying I wasn’t involved isn’t true. You stated this like it was fact that I just “walked by a couple times”. I was literally there a few moments after it got placed all the way till its removal. I was invested and spent a considerable amount of my time there and even made suggestions for it, I was in fact involved and present the whole time. Just because my props were not involved and I wasn’t the one being directly punished shouldn't mean that my voiced frustrations become completely voided. I started getting quickly upset from how he approached and handled it to his refusal to even listen to the context and story behind it.  His actions caused aggravation and unnecessarily ruined that fun and great moment. I also voiced my frustration in the chat towards that very moderator when it was all going down as well.

The reason I decided to post on this thread was because I was personally upset with the moderator. I wanted to provide my own thoughts along with my view of the story. Though my explanation of the situation from my own eyes may have aligned closely with the original poster, but I believed all that did was validate and added more credibility to the story that was being told, I was a direct witness and I figured it would be useful to share that along with my unnecessary opinion. Though I didn't form my first post very well and I could've done better, so I do apologize for that as well.

I disagree, we really dont want your opinion. The facts are already there, we don't want your two cents.

I'll talk to dominik a little about the situation, mostly involving the attitude afterwards "cool didn't ask tbh" and citing the wrong rule for punishment. You definitely should not create a yeet machine that throws players all around spawn, even if people agree to it. Dominik is right in that regard.
