Self supplying shouldn't be allowed.

Gun dealers have one job: to sell guns.

 

Self supplying takes away this job that the gun dealers have. The word "dealer" means seller, and self supplying does not allow gun dealers to do their jobs because people could just buy their own guns and not need to buy guns from a gun shop. Word is out that there may be more guns added to the server, and this could make the gun dealer more relevant. You are not really "dealing" guns if you switch to gun dealer, only to buy yourself guns instead of doing your job and selling them to others. This is the reason gun stores are out of business. I think we should add a rule, or a feature that doesn't allow gun dealers to buy weapons for themselves, for the sake of the job's purpose.

 

If you guys do not agree with changing what the Gun Dealers can and can't do, than I would suggest removing the gun dealers as a whole, and add gun vending machines. It is the same thing as self supplying.

1. I do not see why gun dealers cant buy weapons for themselves if they are playing that role.

2. If there are no gun dealers on then I don't see a problem with self-supplying.

3. I really disagree with how you think that gun dealers are "out of business". I have seen many gun dealers on the server that can both make money with miners and such, as well as sell weapons.

4. Concept of gun vending machines would never work, as we would lose a job, and the whole dynamic of the server would change substantially

You got it all wrong. The reason people don't become gun dealers, is because everyone always self supplies. A gun dealer should not be able to buy a gun for himself. If a gun dealer wants a gun, he goes and buys one from another dealer. Does it make sense that people only become Gun Dealer "aka Gun Seller", just to get themselves guns so and switch to pro thief right afterwards? Self supplying defeats the whole purpose of being a gun dealer.

 

Imagine if self supplying were not allowed. Imagine how the role of being a gun dealer plays out. Now, which would make more sense, and which would give a gun dealer a purpose: To be able to self supply, or not to self supply.

The concept that a gun dealer can’t buy a gun for himself is unrealistic. If you sell guns, you should be able to buy one for yourself to protect yourself. Also if there are no gun dealers on, how do you expect someone not to self supply? It’s not their fault there are no gun dealers on....

It is going to be hard to enforce properly which will be quite annoying especially because we will catch a lot of flak to enforce something that is only to dignify starting a shop as a job.

I personally feel as if banning self supplying would be very unfair and controversial. Just because someone is selling something doesn't mean they're obligated to not purchase their own product. It would be incredibly annoying and frustrating if a gun dealer had to go to another gun dealer every time they wanted a weapon. It simply doesn't make sense and such a rule would have no positive effect on the server.
