I've been banned around 15-20 times for many reasons, back when I was more of a minge and a jokester on the server. At this point I've moved past that stage now and I'm ready to actually try. I talk to and hang out with some of the moderators I used to mess with, a few of which I'm good friends with.

a7) Do you have any prior staffing experience? If so, where?

Although my experience with staffing is mostly unrelated to Garry's Mod, I do have some moderation experience in general. I'm one of the owners of a 10k member Discord server as well as an owner in a 100 member server along with Joey Calzoni and a few other people. Around the years of 2013-2019 I did some staff work for some semi-popular Minecraft servers however I find that including that would be irrelevant. The same can be said for Garry's Mod servers as most are now closed or inactive.

b1) Why do you want to volunteer for XenoRP?

XenoRP is one of the more interesting servers I've seen in the ~6 years I've played on Garry's Mod. It has this community pretty separated from any other DarkRP server I've been on and it's a server that anyone could get hooked on playing. Although my reputation is a bit destroyed around moderators due to my past experiences playing on the server, I've been trying to fix that. Usually when I play, most mods are offline when many rulebreakers are online at a time, however usually I'm on all of the time and I want to help fix that being a problem. I know that it won't permanently stop this however I'm going to try my best to stay online as much as I can. I understand that a few of the staff may not like me but I'm willing to try and fix that as I'm trying to change my ways.

b2) If you were to get accepted, what do you think would make you a good moderator?

I actively play Xeno most of the week and usually whenever I have free-time. This allows me to get a better understanding of what times rulebreakers are on, when and what mods usually aren't on to see these things happen, and I can get a better understanding of who are major rulebreakers. I'm going to try and be as active as I can under this position and I'm going to try and learn from any mistakes I make along the way. I'm also willing to see both sides of every story to get an understanding of who's being truthful and who isn't. My main goal is to do the best that I can while maintaining that I treat people with respect and kindness and hope that I can receive the same back, however I assume not all players on here would do such.

 

c1) Define RDM/RDA and describe how players who perform those actions should be punished.

RDM (Random Deathmatch) is the act of killing another player without any roleplay/valid reason. RDA (Random Arrest) is the act of arresting another player without any roleplay/valid reason. Unmentioned under the question but still important is RDT (Random Tazing) which is to taze another player without any roleplay/valid reason.

Usually, I'd prefer to go in order with:

Verbal > Warning > Ban

I can understand a Xeno player's first time on the server and some choose not to read the rules or don't see specific parts of them, and I do it in such an order for that. Usually, if they're briefed on what they should and shouldn't do, then they usually

c2) Explain "NLR" and provide examples of instances in which it is violated.

NLR (New Life Rule) is a rule put in place stating that a player cannot go to a base/area that they died in until 2 minutes have passed.

However, raid NLR states that a player cannot go to a base/area until the raid is over.

An example would be going back to a base after you die in a raid.

c3) Define "metagame" and provide examples of its occurrence.

Metagaming is the act of using Garry's Mod or other non-RP tools to find otherwise unknown during RP.

An example would be using the voice feature or chat to check for players around or inside a base/area.

d1) You see a higher up is abusing their powers to the highest severity, how do you react?

Record them for evidence and contact any role higher than theirs.

d2) During a sit, you see someone outside of the sit Mass RDMing. How do you handle the situation?

Jail the Mass RDMer and finish my sit before dealing with them.

d3) Only two other players are online, and they're building in the streets.

I'd request that they stop building on the streets and take action if necessary.

Thoughts and Personal Experiences

Despite your-- let's say, checkered past-- I've actually never had a bad experience with you. You've broken plenty of rules and I've personally warned you many times. However, I think it's obvious you've been making a real effort, and it's been almost two weeks since you were last warned. You're extremely active and you know the rules well.

Errors in Application

Honestly, none I could find. Some of your punishments could be a little more specific, but it's not a huge deal. I think this is an exceptional application that you put a lot of effort into over the last few days (as I've seen you on and off the forums making this topic several times recently).

Pros

Knows the rules very well, genuinely cares about the server, hasn't been warned in a couple weeks, great application, really cool person.

Cons

Absolutely hilarious number of warns and bans, which still weren't that long ago.

Conclusion

Your bans and warns obviously give me pause, and you certainly have a bit of a history and reputation on Xeno that make me hesitant. That being said, I've spoken to you several times recently, and I think you've been making a real, genuine effort to change your ways. It's been longer than usual since you were last warned for sure. You remain consistently active, haven't been banned for something other than AWarn in a while, and I think you're a genuinely cool person. I wouldn't mind seeing you on the staff team so long as you stay on extremely good behavior and continue to demonstrate that you're trying to change your ways and become a better player.

You constantly break the rules and do not care about what your punishment will be. You are also banned from discord in general, meaning your account will repeatedly be banned from the platform, and you are required to be part of the discord to be part of the team.

You also just got VAC banned a month ago...

You have 58 warns. ~20 of which were from just February. Also the 6 counts of ban evasion that you have are incredibly concerning. You seem very immature and tend to argue a lot as well. I don't think you're a good fit for the team. I recommend reapplying in a few months after no bad behaviour and a change in attitude.
